How strong is your intuition?

Have you ever felt alone or hopeless in a difficult situation? Most of us have felt that way at some point, and maybe feeling that way right now.  Even when family and friends support you, there is only so much they can do. They can care deeply but they will never understand the situation from your perspective. So what can we do when we feel like nobody can really understand us? What can we do when we feel alone and hopeless?

The most important thing we need to remember is that you are not alone. The same divine forces that placed you on this planet will guide you if you let them. We receive guidance in different ways, mainly through our intuition. Yes, we all have intuition. Some people have developed it more than others, but everyone has it.  If you think that you do not have intuition or that your intuition is not strong, do not worry; intuition can grow stronger with practice.  But what is intuition? I describe intuition as the way we have of knowing whether something is right for us, even when we do not have a logic explanation. Intuition is more related to a feeling that to the mind. It is something you feel, not something you think.

For example, imagine you are sitting on a park bench and suddenly you get up to walk across the park. At that same moment that you stand up, a big branch falls on the bench you were just sitting on. Nobody told you to get up and you probably were not thinking a branch was going to fall on top of you. Something inside you prompted you to get up and go. That was your intuition.

Here is another example,  imagine you are interviewing two candidates for a job. Both credentials look great but you have a feeling that one of the candidates is hiding something. You go for the other candidate and later you discover that the candidate who you thought was hiding something lied about something on the resume. That was your intuition too.

Intuition can guide us in every aspect of life. Intuition is that best friend that can understand how you feel. It is the inner voice that guides you. You are not alone.

If you want to grow your intuition stronger, take time to connect with yourself by paying attention to how you feel. Sometimes we dismiss our feelings when we allow the mind to be the protagonist and take over.  How many times have you said, "I knew it! I should have done such and such..."?

For example, imagine you are walking down the street and see someone walking towards you.  You feel something in your body telling you to cross the street, but your mind interferes and makes you stay where you are so you don't seem rude or disrespectful. You listen to your mind instead of your body. A few seconds later, the person grabs your purse, pushes you to the ground and runs away.

People who have their intuition developed know there is something within them that can give answers to things their mind cannot explain. They simply know! These people flow better with life. You can develop your intuition too if you start paying attention to it with intention: feel it, acknowledge it is within you and allow it to grow stronger.
